Petition to Keep Lake Baikal Alive

Lake Baikal, a unique UNESCO world heritage site, is under threat from the Russian Government, after permits have been given to open a toxic pulp and paper mill on its shore. Petition General Director of UNESCO Irina Bokova to step up and defend this unique world heritage!

French nuclear company AREVA will no longer be using Russia as its nuclear garbage can - as of July nuclear waste shipments to Russia will stop! Now please help to keep Russia's Lake Baikal alive - it's waters are threatened by the reopening of a toxic pulp and paper mill.
